I’ve gone and looked up story spoilers to see if there’s anything worth going through this shit, but the story and later events aren’t too interesting. I try to play the game but close it after a few hours. The "story" is so thin and badly told, with characters that I can’t get attached to and a beautiful yet empty world with only fetch/kill quests to do. Story is always "operator talks, go to place, see robots do thing, operator, go to Pascal, go to camp, repeat." Characters barely talk, there’s no plot going until much later. Then you wander desolate city ruins and deserts fighting robots. The prologue drops you in without any info and the constant gameplay and perspective changes are confusing. Let me say this, even if you think the mildly philosophical concepts in the game are interesting, the game has garbage direction and writing. Androids need a purpose and fight "for humanity" that’s long gone. What’s even there to get? Aliens send robots to eradicate humans. >the story is so deep, if you don’t agree you’re just dumb and didn’t get it I’ll commend the sidequest writing not being completely generic and actually expanding on the world lore, but it’s still boring. The robots and Yorha characters are all boring. How? 9S and 2B are a manzai duo except neither is interesting or likable.

Oooh Pascal and all the robots are soooo deep and interesting

9S isn’t annoying and I feel so bad for him boohoo. >aaah the characters are soooo amazing, 2B is so cool and deep and her ass. The compositions are nothing special either. "Oooooh oooh lala breishti lala huaiti lala ooohoo fjangui lala" I can’t even fucking tell if that’s supposed to be English, Japanese, German or a made-up language like in Aria, where I liked the singing. Too much vocal shit that gets annoying after 5 seconds. I don’t understand its popularity at all and I can’t even agree with negative reviews. And if you've managed to actually reach the DLC, it means you've finished the base game multiple times, so you know to be ready for the unexpected feels to arrive sometime after you're done annihilating robots by the hundreds.I’ve been playing that piece of garbage on and off for about 2 years and always put it down. What's in store inside each colosseum? Lots of epic slaughter. Now just head to a terminal to get the map markers of where to access each new robot battling arena. If you have the proper endings and avoided ending E, open up Chapter Select and pick anything after the third chapter and run around until you get a mail notification. And if that's the case, go that route instead! Of course you may be able to restore your old save data.

Guess what? You've now got to start the game from scratch and beat it three more times to play the DLC. Here's a potential major problem: because of Automata's obsession with weirdness and blurring the lines between what's real and fake, if you got ending E, it means you deleted all your save data. Afterwards the Chapter Select screen becomes avaialble. In order to access the content of this Automata DLC, you first have to have gotten either ending C or D - which means beating the game three separate times. In order to truly find out what's going on between Earth and YoRHa, you have to at least get the first three or four endings, playing the game through multiple times with different characters besides just 2B. If you need a refresher, there are a ludicrous 26 endings to the game - and yes, you are meant to eventually reach most of them. and if you specifically HAVEN'T achieved one particular ending. OK, so now you've pulled out your credit card and finished the download: but where the heck is the content? It isn't just conveniently sitting in the main menu or even in the Chapter Select screen.Īs with everything in this game, they've taken a rather unpredictable path, and this DLC can only be accessed if you've achieved certain endings.

This right here is the whole reason this DLC exists How to Access Nier: Automata's DLC At least there's more eye candy in this one, I suppose. A robot fighting arena and a handful of new outfits? I'm having flashbacks to a certain Wasteland Workshop DLC. Literal boss fights - fight Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and Platinum CEO Kenichi Sato!Īmusing boss fights aside, the content has a few fans less than pleased.Remember when we took a look at the many fine butts of Nier: Automata since that's what the whole Internet primarily loved about this game? Turns out this DLC is primarily a vehicle for giving you a new naughty maid costume for 2B. Apparently there's a method to the madness, and its not just to mess with game sites, as the title refers to "3 Costumes, 3 Colosseums, 1 Dream and the Date 119440927."

We're gonna go ahead and just refer to it as "the Nier Automata DLC" from here on out, because I'm not typing that string of ludicrous numbers and letters ever again.
